This week’s note comes straight from our co-founder, Ant McCormack.

If you’ve ever met Changer co-founder Ant, you know he’s almost up for anything, loves backing creators, and building connections that last.

With VidSummit coming up, he wanted to share the story of how Creator Run Club began - and why you should join in.

Righto, here I go.

Community & connection has always been in Changer’s DNA.

From the day we started 10 years ago we’ve always been about connecting & powering up the entire ecosystem.

From monthly Friday Fry Up bbqs at the studio to comedy shows and drawing nights. Bringing together the creators, industry players, enablers, brands, agencies, and the collaborators. That’s where Changer has seen the magic happen.

That same spirit is how Creator Run Club started.

At every major creator event or conference, I had a habit of heading out (solo) for early morning jogs.

Then last year, ahead of VidCon, I put out a no-expectations invite for anyone who wanted to join me to connect over some movement and good vibes.

A handful of legends turned up - mostly people I’d never met before. We had a chill run and a great time.

That morning was the unofficial launch of Creator Run Club - and since then, it’s grown into a movement.

The idea was never about crossing finish lines first. It’s about getting outside with a crew, moving your body, and starting the day with the kind of conversations you don’t get inside a panel room.

Everyone is invited and everyone is welcome.

You then get that smug feeling for the rest of the conference knowing that you got to do something rad that others slept through…

But this is bigger than Run Club.

To quote Nike Running global head coach, Coach Bennett: “This is about running and this is not about running.”

The real magic and super power of the Creator Economy is the community.

The chance encounters that turn into collaborations. The conversations that spark new ideas. The friendships that last long after the conference wraps.

Whether it’s on a morning jog, in the hallways, or at a late-night debrief (but not the night before Run Club),  the connections you make are the real win.

So if you’re going to Vidsummit this is your invitation to get amongst the community. Deets below.

If you’re not going to Vidsummit, this is your reminder to embrace the power of your community. Say yes to the next opportunity to connect with it.

See you out there.
